Barracuda meets Giacuzzo: Toyotas WRC-Hot Hatch GR Yaris on Dragoon wheels
After almost all sporty, emotional models had temporarily disappeared from the Toyota portfolio, the situation has now improved significantly. In addition to the GT86, whose successor GR 86 is in the starting blocks, and the GR Supra, the rowdy GR Yaris is causing a stir and heart palpitations among petrolheads. Developed as a WRC homologation vehicle, the three-door promises plenty of driving fun with 261 hp and all-wheel drive.
A copy of the fast-paced power dwarf has now been refined by JMS Fahrzeugteile and Giacuzzo as a joint project. High-quality Barracuda Racing Wheels are mounted on the axles of the GR Yaris: These are Dragoon wheels from the "Ultralight Series" manufactured using the weight-saving flow forming process and have a high-gloss bronze finish. The latter fits perfectly with the rally styling of the Toyota. The wheels measure 8.5×19 inches (399 euros) all round, the associated tires 235/35ZR19. A KW Clubsport coilover suspension ensures the additional lowering of the body.
The Giacuzzo team also equipped the radiant white GR Yaris with its matching body kit: It consists of a front spoiler lip (289 euros), side skirts (469 euros), a glossy black racing roof spoiler (439 euros) and a rear diffuser (319 euros). A corresponding parts certificate is available for all parts. To round it off, the Hot Hatch received Giacuzzo’s flap exhaust system.
