Even More Desirable

  • Extensive line-up: ChatGPT now available in most Opel passenger cars and LCVs
  • Wealth of information: Science, pop culture, music and many more topics covered
  • Easy access: ChatGPT1 activated by a simple “Hey Opel”

Travelling with children, heading to a new city, or being stuck in seemingly never-ending traffic jams can be challenging. To make all these situations more bearable, Opel is currently rolling out ChatGPT1 in many of its current models including the new Opel Mokka. Occupants therefore have access to a wide range of information on a long list of topics including science, biology, nutrition, pop culture, music and many more – ChatGPT1 can even create a quiz to keep occupants of all sizes entertained.

The new Opel Mokka recently celebrated its world premiere at the Zurich Motor Show. The most compact member of Opel’s new SUV trio has undergone subtle changes to its bold and pure exterior design with a new Opel Blitz and other visual accents. The biggest changes can be found in the interior. Here, the cockpit now appears even clearer and takes up the Opel Vizor graphics of the front of the vehicle. In addition, drivers and passengers can enjoy the next generation of infotainment.

The further developed bestseller already offers a 10-inch digital driver information display and an equally large colour touchscreen as standard. This can be easily operated using widgets, just like a smartphone. In combination with the optional navigation system, a "Hey Opel" is sufficient to use natural speech recognition – which has now become even more desirable thanks to the addition of ChatGPT1. The system can now learn and independently suggest destinations and route guidance based on the habits of the linked driver profile.

In addition, ChatGPT1 generative artificial intelligence can make journeys more enjoyable. As the technology, developed by OpenAI, has learned from a massive amount of data it can return it to its users in a sophisticated and precise way. For example, when looking for a restaurant in an unfamiliar city, ChatGPT1 can make suggestions based on personal preferences and offers routing to the chosen destination. It can also answer questions such as which artist performed a certain song, who starred in a blockbuster movie – it can even create a quiz to increase the entertainment factor.

The new Mokka is just one of numerous Opel passenger car models that offer ChatGPT1. It is also available in the new Opel Grandland, the Opel Corsa, the Opel Astra, the Opel Astra Sports Tourer, the Opel Combo and the Opel Zafira. Furthermore, the Opel Combo and the Opel Vivaro light commercial vehicles are also available with the artificial intelligence chatbot.

ChatGPT1 is available as part of the Connect PLUS pack2, or for customers who purchased their car before its introduction, as a feature on demand.

[1] This new service uses the power of generative artificial intelligence including the technologies of the SoundHound Chat AI platform. Version 3.5 of ChatGPT uses data dating back to January 2022 at the latest, and therefore has no knowledge of events and data after that date.

[2] Applies to new vehicles ordered after July 3, 2023. Connect PLUS requires a special subscription and is available at no additional cost for a period of 6 months from the start of the warranty. After this trial period, Connect PLUS is available for a fee.
