Fertilizers are indispensable in agriculture in order to provide mankind with food, as the quantity and quality of crop yields depend on them. Potash in particular is an essential fertilizer. Incidentally, thanks to a new invention, a centrifuge, cakes, pizza and pasta can now also be prepared in space. The astronauts will be happy when meals don’t come out of tubes and bags, especially if the missions last for months. But here on Earth, it’s all about simply providing food and less about star cuisine, because many people around the world are still starving.
Millennial Potash – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/millennial-potash-corp/ -, for example, is focusing on the supply of potash fertilizer. Its potash project in Gabon, Africa, scores with good mining conditions such as infrastructure, a mining-friendly country and proximity to important customer countries such as Asia and Brazil. There is also the possibility of supplying African countries.
A sufficient supply of energy and climate change is a priority issue for the western world. The transformation to a greener world and lower CO2 emissions requires certain raw materials. Electric vehicles, photovoltaic systems and wind turbines consume copper, nickel and battery metals such as lithium and cobalt. Electricity storage systems play a central role. Current research is attempting to construct batteries in which sulphur plays an important role. Tests with button cells have been successful and researchers are now trying to advance the new technology for batteries in electric cars. However, lithium-ion batteries will remain number one for some time to come.
Nickel and copper, as held by Green Bridge Metals – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/green-bridge-metals-corp/ – in its advanced Chrome Puddy project in Ontario (Canada) in the Thunder Bay Mining Division, are certainly among the important raw materials for the future.
