The expanded portfolio as a result of the acquisition has enabled WITTENSTEIN cyber motor to achieve two main goals. “On the one hand, we’re enlarging our existing range of solutions for high-precision and high-performance needs with technologically high-performance products for cost-benefit based applications. On the other hand, the engineering and technology growth made possible by the acquisition is opening up new ways for us to adapt products to specialized tasks in a constructive and economically efficient manner”, explains Christoph Weis, Head of Strategic Sales at WITTENSTEIN cyber motor.
Expanded product range provides more solution variance
The expanded range of solutions in the field of rotary and linear servo motors and linear actuators now provides even more variance – whether for new systems and machines or when retrofitting.
The new rotary servo motors in naturally convection-cooled, fan-cooled and water-cooled versions are designed for electronically controlled drives with a wide control range, high dynamics and high precision. The broad portfolio in the power range from 0.4 Nm to 277 Nm offers numerous possibilities for modification according to customer needs – from minor customizing to completely new products.
The new linear servo motors that recently upgraded in the WITTENSTEIN cyber motor portfolio are used wherever the shortest cycle times and high precision are a must, for example in fully automated handling axes. They impress with speeds from 0.01 mm/s to 42 m/s and forces of up to 16 kN. The water-cooled versions offer an additional, significant performance advantage in terms of dynamics and power density.
The new electric linear actuators – in contrast to hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders – enable precise and flexibly controllable positioning processes in a variety of applications without the need for any retooling work on the machine. One special feature of these actuators is the complete integration of the spindle drive into the drive housing. The servo motor, spindle drive and encoder system form a closed, highly integrated and ready-to-install unit with maximum dynamics and compactness and an overload capacity of up to 170 kN.
Perfect, seamless addition to the portfolio
The Czech drive manufacturer was acquired by WITTENSTEIN SE on October 1, 2024. The new products from the company now trading as WITTENSTEIN s.r.o. perfectly complement the existing range of solutions from WITTENSTEIN cyber motor. “That’s evidenced by the fact that the two firms have only rarely been in direct competition with each other in their traditional mechanical engineering markets over the past 20 years or so” comments Pavel Rozprym, Sales Director at WITTENSTEIN s.r.o. in Brno (CZ). At the same time, the new products allow WITTENSTEIN as a whole to leverage synergies by serving target markets like the machine tool industry with gearbox and drive solutions from a single source in any axis. In short, the Brno-built motors and actuators represent a substantial improvement to the existing portfolio of solutions from WITTENSTEIN cyber motor and the WITTENSTEIN group.
