German carmaker Opel has officially confirmed its participation at the IAA Mobility 2025. Regarded as one of the largest mobility events in the world, the IAA Mobility 2025 will take place in Munich from September 9 to 14. Two years ago, the brand with the Blitz grabbed the headlines when it unveiled the stunning Opel Experimental and thus gave a clear outlook on the future of the brand.
“The IAA Mobility 2025 provides us with the perfect platform to showcase the new emotional and electrifying Opel models. We already offer a battery-electric version of each model in our line-up. Furthermore, we offer additional exciting locally emissions-free solutions such as hydrogen fuel-cell drive for our Vivaro and Movano light commercial vehicles. Obviously, we have a long tradition at the IAA. We were the first European carmaker to present a concept car exactly 60 years ago – so stay tuned,” said Opel CEO Florian Huettl.
At the IAA Mobility 2023, Opel presented the groundbreaking Opel Experimental to the world – and the concept car from the Rüsselsheim design centre was a hit with media and the public alike. Many elements first shown in the Experimental have since been introduced in the new Opel Grandland. The new 3D Vizor integrates the Opel Blitz, illuminated for the first time, and the innovative ‘Edge Light’ technology. At the same time, the new Grandland also takes up the ‘Opel Compass’ design of the Opel Experimental study – the vertical crease and the horizontal Vizor converge with the ‘electrified’ Opel Blitz emblem in the centre. In addition, the rear view reveals another premiere: the new Grandland is the first Opel production model to integrate the illuminated OPEL lettering inspired by the Experimental into the centre of its compass light signature.
