This year’s motto of the industrial trade fair "Industrial Transformation – Energising a sustainable future" fits the cable manufacturer’s trade fair appearance like a glove. At the LAPP stand this year, visitors and users will once again find smart connection solutions for a more sustainable future and for Industry 4.0. The focus is therefore on products and solutions from LAPP that impress both with their high performance and with their sustainability and thus make a decisive contribution to the energy transition or shape the industry of tomorrow.
New ideas, pioneering technologies
The direction in which the Stuttgart-based company is currently thinking and working can be seen particularly well at the LAPP trade fair stand in the FutureLab. Here, LAPP presents innovative solutions and sustainable projects in various stages of realisation. For example, LAPP experts will be demonstrating progress and ongoing projects in the fields of additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping as well as the in-house chatbot "Lapp Product Expert" and explaining how larger conductor cross-sections can reduce costs and CO2 emissions. Users can also find out about the benefits of calculating the CO2 footprint of the LAPP product portfolio and how the cable specialist’s development department is working on new, more sustainable product variants.
LAPP is also strongly positioned in the field of renewable energies with products and solutions for solar, wind and infrastructure projects and is bringing experts, expertise and high-quality references to Hanover.
New products for heat and water
Of course, new products will also be on show at the LAPP stand. The Stuttgart-based company will be exhibiting a new EPIC® M23 connector. The component in the new "Clean Design" is designed for direct connection to servo motors. With this new product, LAPP now offers OEMs a full-service harnessing solution from the control cabinet to the inside of the motor. The new ÖLFLEX® HEAT 700 SC is the successor to the ÖLFLEX® HEAT 650 SC with the advantage of a temperature range designed for even greater heat. It can withstand a permanent heat load of 700 degrees Celsius. ÖLFLEX® AQUA is a new, durable and robust PUR connection cable for aquaculture and is characterised by its UV and ozone resistance. It is suitable for use in seawater, is resistant to ammonia and is designed to withstand infestation by algae and mussels.
Concentrated expertise for special cables and industrial communication
The topic of special cables will be represented at the trade fair stand for the first time. Although LAPP has a portfolio of more than 40,000 standard products, there are always customer requirements that are so special that they require a customised solution. This is where all of the cable specialist’s engineering excellence and accumulated expertise comes into play to develop and produce customised special products for the most extreme conditions and environments. Visitors to the stand will be able to find out exactly what the process behind this service looks like and where LAPP has already scored with it.
At one of the largest industrial trade fairs in the world, the topic of industrial communication must not be neglected. This year, LAPP will not only be presenting an extensive portfolio for the various levels of the automation pyramid, but also its tried and tested range of fibre optic cables. At the LAPP workbench, interested visitors can experience live how a fibre optic cable is assembled on site using the Fibre Fast Connect system. In addition, numerous LAPP experts will be on hand throughout the trade fair to offer comprehensive advice on topics such as Single Pair Ethernet (SPE), Advanced Physical Layer (APL) and cloud connectivity. At the Industrial Communication Wall, visitors can see at a glance where the comprehensive LAPP product portfolio is used at all levels of the automation pyramid, from the field to the cloud.
Solutions for intralogistics & e-mobility
Whether for ready-to-install drag chains for storage towers or automated storage and transport systems, intralogistics is once again a focal topic for LAPP this year. The cable specialist now offers a complete portfolio of products, solutions and services as well as comprehensive expertise for this industry. Particularly exciting for users: The new remote I/O devices from LAPP, which support IO-Link technology. The communication system enables a point-to-point connection between an IO-Link device (e.g. a sensor) and an IO-Link master and enables the decentralised acquisition and control of process data by connecting sensors and actuators to the control system via a bus interface. The connection specialist will also be demonstrating its extensive expertise in LAPP Harnessing Solutions with proven assemblies at this year’s trade fair stand. The company impresses with industry-standard servo assemblies, customised cable assemblies and complex system solutions. These solutions are complemented by a wide range of services that provide customers with optimum support throughout the entire production process.
The cable manufacturer is also thinking more and more in terms of complete solutions in the field of e-mobility and is bringing the concentrated LAPP expertise for AC and DC charging infrastructures to the Hannover Messe. From external supply lines to charging parks, charging car parks and electrified underground car parks from the medium-voltage level to power cables, communication cables and screw connections within the charging stations and externally connected CCS2 plugs, LAPP offers charging park installers and operators the complete package for cabling in proven LAPP quality and manufactured from a single source, including comprehensive consulting services. This year’s highlight is the new, high-performance DC charging cable with CCS2 plug including exchangeable plug-in surface for installation at DC charging stations. Also included are tried-and-tested AC charging solutions such as the LAPP Mobility Dock and the Helix charging cable.
